END OF WEEK 7 – POST BABY BLITZ

GOALS FOR 12 WEEK POST BABY BLITZ CHALLENGE

– Lose 10kg (5kg to reach pre-pregnancy weight)

– Lose 60cm from various sites

– Run 10km

– ENJOY THE JOURNEY, BE CONSISTENT, TRAIN HARD, EAT WELL BUT STILL ENJOY LIFE

Another week down and reality has kicked in that if I want to reach my goals things are going to have to be spot on!

I’ve reached the point where I feel pretty good and my body is
pretty comfy at this weight. I know from here it is going to take some
serious discipline and hard work to lose these final few kilos.

People always comment that the last few kilos are the hardest and
it’s so true! As my fitness has increased and my body weight has
decreased I’m finding it harder and harder to burn the calories needed
and can’t seem to get away with any little extras creeping in.

So last week I trained my butt off and ate pretty well although a
bit of picking here and there and overall a bit too much good food has
stopped me from moving forward.

TRAINING LAST WEEK:

1 X 7km JOG

1 X 5km TEMPO JOG

1 X RUNNING INTERVAL SESSION

1 X BIKE INTERVAL SESSION

1 X 40 MINUTE BIKE SESSION

1 X INCLINE POWERWALK

3 X WEIGHT SESSIONS

NUTRITION:

Overall it was pretty good although even too much good food will
stop you from losing weight. I kept a food diary last week and it shows
that on most days I had some extra almonds (about 10-15), a couple of
times I had an extra yoghurt, I had an extra cappucinno out and my treat
meal was most probably too much for this stage of the game (a nice
slice of chocolate mud cake & coffee!)

So it’s hit home that from now on the nutrition has to be spot on as
just having a few extras is enough to stop me from losing fat. There
really is such a fine line between fat loss and maintenance. So even
though I feel good and I’ve eaten really well I still haven’t lost
weight because I obviously just ate more than my body needed. So it just
shows that you don’t have to pig out to stop yourself making progress,
just having too much good food will do it too.

WEIGHT LOSS: NIL – 6.2kg TO GO

LOST 4CM – 32.5CM TO GO

HARDEST THINGS SO FAR:

– Remembering how hard it is to lose the final few kilos.

– Busting my butt in the gym and realising it’s not enough if your nutrition isn’t SPOT ON!!!

– Getting to a comfy place and trying to push forward and not get complacent.

So another week down and a few cm’s smaller although time to get this nutrition spot on so I can start making some big changes!
