Who’s been wishing, wanting, thinking and talking about losing fat and getting into shape for a while now?
Are you waiting until the Kids go back to school? Or until that list of excuses you’ve got disappears!
Do you know what GETS RESULTS? TAKING ACTION…..
Now I’m not talking about turning things around overnight but all of this talking, wishing, wanting and waiting won’t get you anywhere fast.
It’s all well and good to think about things and work out what’s important to you but there comes a time when you simply need to kick yourself up the butt and start taking action. It might be as simple as scheduling in a couple of exercise sessions for your first week or keeping a food diary to see how you can improve things or making a committment to your goals and finding someone to keep you accountable.
As a Personal Trainer I get a lot of people coming up to me telling me about their problems, followed shortly afterwards about how much harder it is for them and the usual “I don’t have time” excuse usually comes up as well. Now, I know you are busy, I understand, I really do but until you MAKE time for exercise and looking after yourself, it just won’t happen. It’s amazing how you can make time for the things you “really” want to do but when it comes to exercise and eating well, unless it’s a priority you will never have the time. Most of us are all busy but some choose to spend some time on their health and others, well they wait until it gets to the point where their health is so bad that they don’t even have a choice anymore. I tend to use exercise as a preventitive measure to keep me feeling great rather than waiting until the Dr tells me to.
Ultimatley, whether you change or not all comes down to YOU. If we want something badly enough, you will FIND ways to make it work. So maybe instead of wishing, wanting and talking about changing, it might be time to be HONEST with yourself and ask yourself –
How much do I really want to change?
How important is it to me?
What am I prepared to do to make it happen?
As a Personal Trainer I LOVE helping others reach their goals. It’s one of the most rewarding things you can do, although in saying that it can be REALLY hard work if the person doesn’t WANT to change and is still in excuse mode.
So if you’re one of those people still talking about changing but hasn’t done much about it, maybe it’s time to work out if you REALLY want to change and how important it is to you.
