A Journey to Health After Baby

After the birth of my second child, I found myself at my heaviest weight ever, having gained 20kg during pregnancy. I felt awful and knew it was time for a change. When my baby was 10 weeks old, I decided I was ready to take control and do something about it.

I had tried to get in shape before but always found myself quitting after about a month. I’d start questioning if what I was doing was really working, and I’d give up. This time, I decided to enlist the help of Get Active Online. I signed up, committed to trusting the program, and followed it through.

The first few weeks went really well, and by week 6, I was back in my pre-pregnancy clothes! I wasn’t perfect—there were a couple of tough days—but I always kept going the next day.

Some days were harder than others, especially with little sleep, but I pushed through. I reminded myself that I was tired anyway and that exercise might help me feel better.

The hardest part of the program was believing I could actually do it and being honest with myself about the bad habits I needed to change.

I took the good days with the bad, kept going, and by Christmas Day, I had reached my goal weight—one week ahead of schedule!

Now, I’m starting the new year 9kg lighter, feeling like myself again. Thank you, Hilde, for getting me through the tough times and for encouraging me when I thought I couldn’t do it!
