Online Personal Trainer since 2008 

Hi, I’m Hilde — founder of Get Active Online and your Online Personal Trainer. 

In 2008, Get Active Online was born from a passion to help others feel as amazing as I discovered I could through health and fitness. Back then, no one really knew what online personal training was — Instagram wasn’t even a thing, and Michelle Bridges hadn’t hit the scene. But I believed in the power of personalised online coaching, and soon, word spread. Clients achieved incredible results, we were featured in national magazines, and I became a regular contributor for Oxygen Magazine.

 

Before I was a fitness coach, my life was very different. In my 20s, I was a pack-a-day smoker, could outdrink most blokes, and struggled with depression. It all changed when I decided to try a 12-week fitness program. I started just to lose a few kilos, but what I gained was a belief in myself and a new way of living that made me feel unstoppable. Fitness became my new drug of choice, and I was hooked on sharing that energy with others. That’s how Get Active Online began.

Over the years, Get Active grew. In 2014, I opened my first Bootcamp and Personal Training Studio in Cairns — a massive success with more clients-turned-family than I ever imagined. In 2017, we expanded again, bringing personal training to older adults with a focus on strength, form, and living vibrantly as we age.

Then life threw me another challenge. In 2021, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Suddenly, everything that wasn’t important fell away. My battle with cancer brought clarity — health and happiness are everything. It also thrust me into full on menopausal symptoms, a whole new set of challenges. I wasn’t ready to accept feeling tired, moody, and battling weight gain. Determined as ever, I researched everything I could to thrive, not just survive.

This experience led me to create The Menopause Diet and Midlife Makeover — programs designed to help women feel incredible at every stage of life. I’m passionate about helping others prioritise self-care, manage stress, and build balanced lifestyles.
