What was your goal when you originally signed up?
The main goal I was focusing on was to lose 10kg.
Why was this important?
I wanted to lose 10kg because I knew I was very unhappy with my body, and I wanted to feel amazing in my own skin again. I wanted to look in the mirror and say, “Wow, you can do anything when you put your mind to it.”
How long had you had this goal?
For two years. I was constantly looking for diet plans, exercise plans, and challenges. None of these ever worked, as I always gave up after two weeks.
What were the top 1-2 things that held you back from achieving your goal?
- Motivation was a massive one for me. Coming from a competitive swimming background, I always had a coach pushing me five times a week. After I stopped swimming at 18, finding someone who could motivate and believe in me was hard. Getting out of bed when no one expects you to train is tough, but once I found Hilde and Cam, I loved coming to bootcamp—it made exercising so much easier because I enjoyed the environment.
- Diet was another challenge. I struggle with sweets, especially since my partner loves them. It’s hard to watch someone snacking on chocolate while I stick to water. Plus, I simply love food!
What had you tried to get to your goal before?
I tried F45, multiple diet plans, keto, and online fitness challenges.
How did you originally hear about us?
My mum previously did bootcamp and a challenge called “Sexy Back” with Hilde. We were also neighbours years ago!
What originally prompted you to seek us out?
My mum’s weight loss and fitness results from Get Active Bootcamp. She looked amazing for a 40-year-old woman!
At the time you enrolled, were you already exercising?
I wasn’t exercising, aside from occasional walks with the dogs.
What was your previous background in fitness?
I swam five times a week from age 10 to 18.
When you originally signed up, what was your first goal?
To attend bootcamp three times a week.
I felt I could achieve this goal but wasn’t sure how to overcome my lack of motivation.
Now that you’ve lost 10kg, has your view of yourself changed?
YES! I feel amazing. I’m constantly positive about life and myself. I wish I had done the 12-week challenge sooner!
I’m excited about a healthier future, making better food choices, and staying active every day—it’s the best thing for both body and mind.
What have you liked best about working with us?
Hilde is incredibly motivating, honest, and raw. She doesn’t just tell you what you want to hear—she gives real feedback, which is exactly what you need to succeed.
What challenges have you overcome that kept you from progressing faster?
- Hunger: It’s an uncomfortable feeling, but worth it when you know you’re doing it for the right reasons.
- Portion sizing: I learned that dinner should be the smallest meal of the day. It feels so much better waking up without a heavy meal sitting in my stomach.
How did you overcome these challenges?
I realised hunger was often just a mindset. Reflecting on old photos when I was fit helped remind me I could be that person again if I stayed disciplined.
For portion sizing, my stomach adjusted over time. It’s all about telling your mind that you don’t need large portions. It’s a mental battle, but focusing on the bigger picture helps.
What would you say to someone sitting on the fence about joining our program?
100% do it! It will change your life, body, and mindset. You’ll feel amazing about yourself.
Push through the first three days of no sugar—if you can do that, you can do anything! The program is flexible and adaptable, not just vegetables and chicken every day. Hilde even encourages occasional treats.
